Vita
Francisco Pulpillo Chiclana was born in Rus (Spain) in 1997 and began his musical training as a pianist. In 2021, he completed his piano studies and master's degree at COSCYL (Salamanca, Spain). During this time, he studied with Miriam Gómez-Morán and Alberto Rosado. He also collaborated on TaCoS projects at this conservatory, developing an interest in 20th and 21st century repertoire. During this time, he also began studying composition with Jorge Gijón and Alberto Hortigüela, later going on to study at the Conservatorio di Musica Giuseppe Verdi (Milan, Italy), where he completed his studies with Gabriele Manca in 2025.
He won the 2021 Disklavier Composers Competition in Cremona (Italy) and the 1st prize of the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan in 2023. In 2024, he was selected for the Cátedra Manuel de Falla in Seville (Spain). His music has been performed at the Spanish Music Festival in Cádiz, Salamanca, and at the 2025 AEC Conference in Milan. He worked as an editor on the transcription of the cantata Il Quatro Giugno by Arrigo Boito (1842-1918).
