Infos

Since 2019, the City of Leipzig has been offering the “International Hanns Eisler Fellowship.” The core of the scholarship is a five-month residency in Leipzig, in Hanns Eisler’s birthplace. During this period, the scholarship recipient will have the opportunity to engage with Leipzig’s musical and cultural life through performances, lectures, and, in particular, personal contacts. The scholarship culminates in the world premiere of a work composed during this time as part of the “musica nova” chamber music series at the Gewandhaus. In addition to free housing, the scholarship provides a monthly stipend of €1,200. The application period for the scholarship is every spring.
